"Blue 'Merica" - An abstracted interpretation of the continental United States. I painted this in oil on stretched canvas, with dynamic charcoal line work layered into the surface. The familiar shape of the continent emerges from expressive layers of muted gold, grays, blues, and deep red, suggesting both a map and a memory. Loose gestures and structural marks give the piece movement and depth, inviting the viewer to see both landscape and abstraction. It's a bold, conversation-starting piece that works beautifully in contemporary or transitional spaces. Five drawings of Colorado move from top to bottom. I can't help it: I'm a Coloradan!
